HIPAA compliance and medCrowd

24th March 2017 by Dr Felix Jackson

HIPAA, which stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ensures sensitive patient data is protected. HIPAA contains a Security Rule that establishes national standards to protect individuals' electronic personal health information (ePHI) that is created, received, used, or maintained by a covered entity. The Security Rule requires appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of electronic protected health information.

medCrowd meets all the administrative, physical and technical safeguards ensuring it is HIPPA complaint. Healthcare workers can be assured that any patient information they share on medCrowd will be treated with the up most security and confidentiality.
